ABC Artists’ Books Cooperative is an international network created by and for artists who make print-on-demand books. Comprised of artists such as Andreas Schmidt, Mishka Henner and Jonathan Lewis.
Here are some of their newest publications:
Are you searching for me? by Joachim Schmid
There are many Joachim Schmids. Some play a role in public life, others don’t. People who wish to learn what we do or what we did, what we wrote or what we said, begin by searching the internet. It’s all there: names, dates, pictures and the rest. Thanks to the search engine the world has become transparent and there are no more secrets. Or so we think. If it’s me you’re looking for, most of the information you’ll find is false.
Suit by Andreas Schmidt
Suit showcases numerous photographs taken of Andreas Schmidt wearing the same suit over the last 16 years. Less than 48 hours after his performance during C/O Berlin Book Days, Andreas Schmidt launched the trade edition of his book Suit. Simultaneously he announced that he will never wear his suit again.
Lone Wolf by David Schulz
Lone Wolf weaves together reality tv stills, World War Two post-traumatic stress disorder soldiers, and the U.S. Congress hashing out provisions in the U.S.A. Patriot Act.
(K)alte Krieger / (C)old Warriors by Burkhard von Harder
Picture puzzles from the repository of a recently discovered anonymous Ukrainian Cold War Archive.
The Postmortal Archive by Burkhard von Harder
What is happening to our minds when we are gone?
“One can turn off the camera, study the footage. But what is happening to the film of your mind when being switched off? Even the people closest to us cannot look into our heads, which does not mean it is empty … where to disappear these images, in which postmortal archive are they being kept?” (Oksana Sabuschko, The Museum of Forgotten Secrets)
